OREANDA-NEWS. Fourth Generation Company of the Wholesale Electricity Market (OGK-4) has entered into a contract with the consortium comprising General Electric International Inc., USA, and Gama Guc Sistemleri Muhendislik ve Taahhut A.S., Turkey, to construct two CCGT-400-based power units at its branch Surgutskaya GRES-2, the press service of OGK-4 reports. The representatives of the contracting parties signed the General Contract Agreement covering the design, delivery of equipment and materials, construction and commissioning of two 400-MW single-shaft combined cycle gas turbine units (on a turnkey basis). The contract price is 363.7 million euros and 299.5 million US dollars (exclusive of VAT, customs duties, and extra charges).

The General Electric-Gama consortium was publicly selected as the preferred bidder in August 2007 and awarded the general contract agreement to construct 800 MW capacity based on two CCGT-400s at Surgutskaya GRES-2, an OGK-4 branch. The contract with the general contractor for the construction of two CCGT-400s at Surgutskaya GRES-2, which contract is a material transaction, was approved by the OGK-4 Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on October 5, 2007. 

The investment project to construct 800 MW of CCGT-based capacity at Surgutskaya GRES-2, an OGK-4 branch, is on the List of Priority Sites for Commissioning in the Unified Energy System of Russia. The two CCGT-400-based power units are scheduled to be put into operation in the second half of 2010. The total project value is about 30 billion rubles.
