OREANDA-NEWS. TNK-BP announced that the company had purchased the first two gasoline tank trucks of new generation to provide more flexible logistics of fuel supplies to its customers in Ukraine, the press service of TNK-BP reported. The company plans to form a fleet of modern gasoline tank trucks equipped with environment-friendly technical characteristics which are unique for the Ukrainian market. In 2007, investment in the project will amount to $1.7 mln.

MAN haulers (Germany) with STOKOTA (Belgium) tank semitrailers are designed for loading of 32 sq. m. of oil products. The trucks are compliant with the requirements of the Agreement of European States on International Transportation of Hazardous Cargo ADR (Accord Dangereuses Route) and fully conform to Ukrainian security standards. The new equipment will be operated by JSC “Lisichansknefeprodukt”, a retail company of TNK-BP group of companies which is located in the Lugansk region.

“We are implementing a technological solution which is new to Ukraine," said Ishtvan Molnar, Director on Secondary Logistics, TNK-BP Commerce. — "The trucks are equipped with advanced HSE systems. We will be able to supervise drivers’ performance via tachographs which monitor the truck en route. The tanks have the capacity for top and bottom loading of gasoline which allows to recuperate gas and to fully exclude atmospheric emissions”.

Employees at Lisichansknefeprodukt were trained and certified by the European manufacturers to operate the vehicles. TNK-BP plans to purchase another four modern gasoline tank trucks for the Ukrainian market by the end of the year. At present, the company is establishing a dispatcher service which will use GPRS technology to monitor vehicle movement in real time.
