OREANDA-NEWS. ASTARTA of Ukraine presented a report  with results reflecting the first nine months 2007's performance and the strategic goals for future periods. During the reporting period, the Company demonstrated considerable growth in its production, operational and marketing activities.

According to the company's press release, ASTARTA's revenues totaled EUR54.8 million, which is 1.5 times more than in the same period last year.  The increased revenues are mainly due to the larger sugar sales (84255 tons in 9M 2007 vs. 46575 tons in 9M 2006 - a 81% jump), as well as due to doubled revenues from crops and cattle farming. The net profit amounted up to EUR16.1 million.

Since agricultural land is a key production asset for the Company, management expanded the areas under lease up to over 130 thousand ha as of today.  Due to the land expansion, as well as better yields, the Company enjoyed better harvest of sugar beet, grains and oilseeds.

At the conference held on November 14 at the Warsaw Stock Exchange, ASTARTA Holding N. V. CEO Viktor Ivanchyk said: "First nine months 2007, as well as today's figures let us surely state that ASTARTA will take leadership among Ukrainian sugar companies in 2007."
