OREANDA-NEWS. On November 14, 2007 the press service of the administration of Sarov (Nizhniy Novgorod) reported that such a possibility was discussed during a conference at Moscow Architectural Institute.

The deputy head of the Sarov administration Valery Zorya says that representatives of Rosatom and Culture Ministry, professors and assistant professors of a number of Moscow universities, journalists and researchers approved the idea of establishing an all-Russian education center in Sarov.

Particularly, the Corporate Development Institute of Renova Group is ready to sponsor the initial stage of the project. The representatives of Moscow State Institute of International Relations suggested giving the center the status of “People’s University.”

Zorya says that the students of Moscow Architectural Institute are presently preparing a graduation project “Sarov University: Possible Image of the City in the Future”.

The conferees decided to set up a working group for drafting the concept of the new Sarov University.

The advisor of the Culture and Mass Communications Minister Tamara Gudima confirmed the interest of the Ministry in continuing the project “Culture of XXI” – a project based on many years experience of Sarov.
