OREANDA-NEWS. November 15, 2007. Russian national postal operator FSUE Russian Post and one of the largest universal postal operator company TNT N. V. set the basis of cooperation. The Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Acting Director General of FSUE Russian Post Andrey Konoval and General Director of TNT N. V. Peter Bakker on 6th November 2007 shows main trends and order of companies’ interaction.

In accordance with the document Russian Post and TNT N. V. establish joint working group to consider the matters on bilateral cooperation as follows:

- application of logistics system of Russian Post for delivery of TNT mails within the territory of the Russian Federation,

- application of TNT company means concerning EMS mails delivered from Russia in Europe.

Interaction between Russian Post and TNT supposes joint consideration of the enterprise’s automatiс control and main trends in modern postal markets.

We speak not only of the experience exchange, but partnership between our companies, claimed TNT. N. V. General Director Peter Bakker in the course of the meeting held today.

As said Mr. Bakker both parties benefit from this cooperation. Russian Post and TNT are eager to help each other to achieve common goals.

Signing the document is only the first step in our long-term cooperation. Bilateral working group prepares more detailed suggestions with its first session held today, noted Acting Director General of FSUE Russian Post Andrey Konoval.

Nowadays Russian Post aggressively develops in express-delivery market in Russia and grants express-delivery services in its affiliated branch EMS within the country. With Russian Post’s potential and developed network TNT can enlarge its activities in the Russian market. At the same time TNT is one of the world leaders on express-delivery. So Russian Post’s dealing with the company helps it to improve service quality granted in the foreign countries.

Up to the present moment FSUE Russian Post hasn’t cooperated directly with any universal postal operator. International items’ exchange is implemented within the framework of the Acts of the Universal Postal Union.

According to Andrey Konoval cooperation between Russian Post and TNT will extra optimize logistics and greatly improve service quality.
