OREANDA-NEWS. November 23, 2007. The capacity of the Central Asia-Centre gas pipeline will be increased to 20bn cu.m. a year, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow has said.

"Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Russia will upgrade the pipeline in order to raise its throughput capacity to 20bn cu.m.," the president told the prime ministers of CIS member states, who had arrived in Asgabat to attend a meeting of the CIS heads of government.

Uzbekistan will also participate in the pipeline upgrade project.
