OREANDA-NEWS. December 12, 2007.  A meeting of the Russian part of the Russian-Algerian Business Council (RABC) was held in the premises of the Russian Trade and Industrial Chamber. Among the participants in the meeting were Yevgeny Primakov, the President of the Chamber, Amar Abba, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Relations of Russia and of Russian companies – members of the Russian part of RABC.

Introducing Victor Lorents, the President of PJSC Stroytransgaz, as candidate to the post of Chairman of the Russian part of the Russian-Algerian Business Council, Yevgeny Primakov mentioned that Stroytransgaz, among few Russian companies, has been working successfully in the Algerian market for eight years already. He expressed hope that, thanks to the election of Victor Lorents to the post of co-chairman of RABC, the trade and economic cooperation between the two countries will become more active.
Victor Lorents, elected to the post unanimously, told that during the years of the work in Algeria Stroytransgaz has realized a number of large scale projects, of which the budgets exceed hundreds million dollars. He went on speaking that Stroytransgaz has proved its competitive ability, acquired good business relations of different levels and now is ready to become a guide for Russian businessmen and to help in arranging direct contacts between business partners of the two countries. There is space for Russian-Algerian cooperation, Mr. Lorents said in conclusion, in practically all the areas of the Algerian economy.

His Excellency Amar Abba, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Algeria in Moscow, congratulated Victor Lorents and stressed, that his election is a merited recognition of the experience and knowledge of the experts of Stroytransgaz accumulated during the long years of the work in Algeria, the knowledge and experience which have enabled the Russian Company to achieve great success in his country.
