OREANDA-NEWS. On December 11, 2007 in the Moscow residence of the French Ambassador the ceremony to award VTB Chairman and CEO Andrei Kostin with the National Order of Merit (Ordre National du Merite) took place, reported the press-centre of VTB.

The insignia of the Order was awarded to Andrei Kostin by the French Ambassador to Russia Stanislas de Laboulaye.

“I am thankful to the Government of France for their appreciation of my contribution to stronger partnership relations between our countries and I am also confident of their further successful development” – said Andrei Kostin.

The National Order of Merit (Ordre national du Merite) was founded in 1963 to be awarded for distinguished public service achievements, public work, military service and private entrepreneurship. The National Order of Merit (Ordre national du Merite) has three degrees: Knight (chevalier), Officer (officier) and Commander (commandeur) and two titles: Grand Officer (grand officier) and Grand Cross (grand-croix).
