OREANDA-NEWS. December 18, 2007. UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, announced the appointment of Vladislav Soloviev, Chief Financial Officer, to the company’s Board of Directors.

The change in the composition of the Board is a result of Andrew Michelmore leaving the position of Chief Executive Officer of En+, a holding company combining the energy, coal, oil, and aluminium assets of Basic Element, and stepping down from the Board.

Commenting on his appointment, Vladislav Soloviev said: "I am delighted to have been appointed to the Board of UC RUSAL.  I look forward to continuing the development of UC RUSAL as the world’s most dynamic energy and metals corporation, using my knowledge developed throughout eight years experience at the company." 

Biographical Notes:
Vladislav Soloviev was appointed Chief Financial Officer of UC RUSAL upon the company’s formation in March 2007. In addition to financial planning and auditing responsibilities, he is in charge of business transaction analysis and oversees information technology (SAP/R3) and efficiency management systems.

In February 2001, Vladislav Soloviev was appointed head of RUSAL's Finance Directorate. Previously, he was director of RUSAL’s accounting department. Prior to joining RUSAL, Mr. Soloviev was Deputy Director of the tax policy and tax legislation department and worked as adviser to the Minister for Taxes of the Russian Federation. From 1994 to 1998, he held various top positions in "UNICON/MC Consulting" and was in charge of auditing oil and gas companies.
   
Vladislav Soloviev was born in 1973.  In 1995, he graduated with honours from the Higher School of the State Academy of Management, and in 1996, he graduated from the "Stankin" Moscow Technical University. He also studied at the Finance Academy of the government of the Russian Federation and was awarded an MBA diploma by Antwerp University (Belgium).
