OREANDA-NEWS. December 21, 2007.  JSC Novosibirsk Metallurgical Plant named after Kuzmin /part of ESTAR Group/ plans to commission a pipe welding mill “10-50" with a commercial output of 60-70,000 t per year in May, 2008, according to the message of ESTAR Group.

The equipment was purchased for the production of water and gas pipes with wall thickness of 15-32 mm. Commissioning of the new mill opens technical opportunities for the plant to increase the water and gas pipe production almost two-fold and decrease the processing costs per ton by 20-25%. The production program also envisages manufacturing of shaped and square pipes for construction industry that are in constantly increasing demand. The products will be of a high European-level quality.

The equipment is currently stored at the plant’s warehouse. The cost of the new electric pipe welding mill "10-50" manufactured by OTO MILLS is 2.7 mln rubles. The estimated project payback period is 1.8 years after commissioning.

As of today, in the course of installation of the new electric pipe welding mill "10-50" manufactured by OTO MILLS /Italy/ in the flats and pipes production shop of NMP named after Kuzmin, the design work is completed and the finished products warehouse is built. The next stage is to construct foundations for the equipment, install metal constructions and transformer stations. All the work is performed under the supervision of the representatives of OTO MILLS, the company-manufacturer.

The new tube and pipe mill is meant for production of electric welded pipes with a diameter of 19-48 mm and a wall thickness of 1.0-3.5 mm. The “10-50” mill is equipped with modern automatic strip feeding devices, a German welder by Ideal-WERK, automatic packaging line by MAIR (Italy), a device for quick stand replacement, a flying sawing machine that provides high quality of pipe’s bearing face for cutting finished pipes in the mill’s line. The maximum pipe welding speed on this mill is 150 m/minute.
