OREANDA-NEWS. January 9, 2008. In 2007, Murmansk Commercial Seaport handled 14.4 million tonnes of cargo. In the reported period it handled211,298 wagons and 567 vessels. In December, the port’s throughput totaled 1.487 million tonnes of cargo (+34%, year-on-year). Transshipment of export cargo amounted to 1.435 million tonnes (+36.8%, year-on-year) including 1.15 million tonnes of coal, 195,500 tonnes of apatite, 11,000 tonnes of non-ferrous metal. Transshipment of general cargo totaled 69,600 tonnes (75.2% against the same period of the previous year), dry bulk – 1.4 million tonnes (+39.2%, year-on-year). In December the port handled 20,080 wagons including 14,778 wagons with coal, and 55 vessels.
