OREANDA-NEWS. January 15, 2008. In an effort to expand its network of international flights, Transaero Airlines had added new regularly scheduled flights from Moscow to Australia, South Africa, the Republic of Mauritius and Switzerland, the company's press service announced. The new Moscow - Sydney route makes Transaero the only airline in Russia to provide service to Australia. On this route the company will operate Boeing 767-300ER in two class configurations bi-weekly. The flight has a scheduled stopover in Hong Kong.

The carrier's Moscow - Johannesburg - Mauritius - Moscow flight provides a unique opportunity to see two countries in one trip. Transaero's charter operations to South Africa will give way to regularly scheduled flights to Johannesburg as well as to Mauritius, a very popular tourist destination. A Boeing 767-300ER will accommodate passengers in economy and business classes three times a month.

By a special international agreement, travelers arriving at the EuroAirport (near Basel, Switzerland) can exit either to Switzerland or to France. Transaero will be using a Boeing 737 with two classes for regular weekly flights on Sundays for the new route. "We're happy to provide our passengers with exclusive scheduled flights to popular destinations. We think they'll all be a success," says Transaero Airlines Deputy Director General Boris Gulnitskiy. Transaero has also announced plans to begin operations between Saint Petersburg and Tokyo and Moscow and the US (NYC and LA) later this year.
