OREANDA-NEWS. January 18, 2007. Mozyr Oil Refinery is completing the construction of a petrol hydrodesulfurization plant this year and will commission it in 2009.

The delivery of the equipment for the new plant has started. The plant is designed to treat petrol produced as a result of catalytic cracking. Today the content of sulfur ranges between 150 – 300 ppm. The plans are to reduce it to 30-50 ppm. “With the new plant in operation, Mozyr Oil Refinery will be able to compete with any European producer in quality of petrol,” the company says. The construction of the new facility started last year. The total cost of the project is estimated at $89 million.
An alkylation facility at Mozyr Oil Refinery will be delivered in 2008. It will produce 300 thousand tonnes of high-octane eco-friendly petrol additive.

In line with the development programme, this year the refinery will be carrying out several more investment projects aimed at improving the quality and increasing the output. They are scheduled for completion in 2009-2010.
