OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2007. Azovstal Quality Management System once again got an official conformation of its correspondence to the requirements of international standard ISO 9001:2000, reported the press-centre of Azovstal.
 
Certificate of Conformity was given by the results of re-certification audit at the end of 2007 that had been performed by the specialists of Canadian Quality Management Institute (QMI) and international certification network IQNET. The document approves efficiency and constant improvement of Quality Management System acting at the Works, high status of Azovstal as a developer and producer of cast slabs, ingots, hot-rolled square billets and plates, rails, rail fasteners, steel sections, including shapes and sections, and milling balls.
 
“Confirmation of Azovstal Quality Management System efficiency proves that the Works take firm position as one of the leading steel products supplier. As a result of this, Azovstal increases its efficiency, effectivity and profitability, accelerating its development and finding new product markets”, says Dmitriy Livshits, General Director of PJSC “Azovstal Iron ad Steel Works”.
 
Efficiency of Product Quality Management System to ISO 9001:2000 by the results of audit performed by TRANSNEFT (Russian Federation) allowed the Works to be among strip suppliers for the producers of large diameter electric-welded pipes that provide the construction of the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline (ESPO) in Russian Federation.
 
Azovstal Product Quality Management is certified by American Petroleum Institute (API) for correspondence to requirements of API Spec Q1 standards, and the Works are approved as the producer of steel plates for deep-sea platforms to the standards of API Specification 2H and 2Y. By the results of the audit, performed by API specialists in autumn, 2007, Azovstal Iron and Steel Works confirmed the correspondence of its Quality Management System to the standard of API Specification 2H and 2Y, 2009.
 
High quality of Azovstal products has repeatedly been confirmed by quality certificates of the world leading classification societies: Lloyds Register of Shipping, German Lloyd, Det Norske VERITAS, American Bureau of Shipping, TUV Rheinland, American Petroleum Institute, Bureau VERITAS (France), Maritime Register of Shipping (Russia), that have given 26 certificates for the steel products of PJSC “Azovstal Iron and Steel Works”.
