OREANDA-NEWS.  January 30, 2008.The key mission of the office is to commercialize high-tech projects in the field of radio-isotopes, radio-pharmaceutics, isotopic diagnosis and production of high-tech medical equipment, particularly, the projects presented at the fair of high-tech medical projects “Atommed-2007.”

The office is supposed to coordinate the following activities: drafting projects to develop production of radio-isotopes and radio-medicines, creating a network of mobile and stationary diagnostic centers, planning business activities and managing production processes, providing infrastructural and information support, etc..

Rosatom’s companies have big experience of production of stable radio-isotopes. So, they can not only provide medicine with high-quality materials and unique products but also get a big share on the market. Experts forecast that in the coming years the world market of radio-isotopes and radio-medicines will grow by 10%-15% a year to $35bln-40bln in 2020. The key consumers are the Untied States, Canada, the central and northern regions of Western Europe, South-East Asia. Russia is also a potential consumer.   

The quickly growing demand on the world market needs complex and prospective offers. That’s why it is necessary to coordinate the efforts of research and nuclear companies and to apply their technologies in the sphere of medicine. The office is expected to attract investments in high-tech projects, to ensure their promotion and reinvestment of funds in new projects.
