OREANDA-NEWS. On 30 January 2008 Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine permitted to Emfesz, controlled by Dmitriy Firtash, to acquire Ukrnadraservice oil and gas company, controlled by Genadiy Rudenko, a partner of Konstantin Zhavago

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine permitted to Emfesz Kft energy trader (Hungary), controlled by the co-owner of RosUkrEnergo, to consolidate more than a 50% stake in Ukrnadraservice CJSC (oil and gas company), controlled by Genadiy Rudenko, a partner of Konstantin Zhavago. Ukrnadraservice CJSC produces oil and natural gas in Poltava region and in western Ukraine, as well as provides services related to hydrocarbon production. Besides, it has an affiliated company in Turkmenistan, where the company also participates in the gas field development. One more advantage of Ukrnadraservice CJSC is that it is a co-founder of Donetsk Kriazh LLC, specialized in geological prospecting and mining of solid minerals. Donetsk Kriazh LLC possesses a license for geological prospecting in Ukraine and a license for gold and multiproduct mining on Bobrikov deposit.

As at the end of October 2007 Ukrainskie Machine Building Works LLC (Kiev) and an individual-resident owned 49.996% stakes (each) in the company. Ukrainskie Machine Building Works LLC is the official representative of Berdychev Progress Machine Engineering OJSC, Snezhiany Chemical Engineering OJSC, Pavlogradkhimmash OJSC, and Korosten Chemical Engineering OJSC. The key shareholder of Ukrainskie Machine Building Works LLC is Gennadiy Rudenko, MP of 4th convocation, and Progress OJSC (Berdychev Machine Engineering OJSC of AvtoKrAZ holding being part of Finance and Credit financial and industrial group, controlled by Oleg and Konstantin Zhavago). As at the end of 2007 Berdychev Progress Machine Engineering OJSC owned 36.1426% in Ukrainskie Machine Building Works LLC.

Taking into account the fact that the oil and gas business is not in line with the profile of Finance and Credit group, it is quite possible that in the nearest future Mr Firtash will also gain control over Atol LLC, which also possesses a license for the development of gas and gas-condensate fields in Poltava region.
