OREANDA-NEWS.  February 12, 2008. Asen Gagauzov, Minister of Regional Development and Public Services of the Republic of Bulgaria, has completed his visit to the Russian Federation. While in Moscow, the minister met with the president of leading Russian engineering-construction company Stroytransgaz, Victor Lorents. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Russian Federation Plamen Grozdanov and Chairman of the Construction Board of the Republic of Bulgaria Simeon Peshev joined them in their discussions.

During the meeting, which took place at Stroytransgaz headquarters, the leaders considered realization of the Russian-Bulgarian-Greek pipeline project Burgas-Alexandroupolis, construction of the South Stream pipeline, and participation of Bulgarian companies in Stroytrangaz’s objects in Sochi.

From 2000 to 2006 Stroytransgaz, as member of the Russian delegation of a three-party (Russia-Bulgaria-Greece) working committee, helped to develop a concept for the project to build the Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline. Specifically, the company prepared a detailed study of construction engineering elements.

Stroytransgaz is an inalterable participant in the economic collaboration between Russia and Greece in the sphere of energy construction. In addition, from 1996 through 2007, within the framework of an international agreement between two countries for the delivery of natural gas, Stroytransgaz built 446 kilometers of high-pressure gas pipelines with branch connections. In August of last year, Stroytransgaz completed laying the 53.7-kilometer Komotini-Alexandroupolis gas pipeline.
