OREANDA-NEWS. February 13, 2008. In January 2008, Spetsmornefteport “Primorsk” exported 6.6 million tonnes of oil (+7%, year-on-year), St. Petersburg Seaport Administration reports. In January the port handled 129 vessels. Spetsmornefteport “Primorsk” LLC (Leningrad Region, subsidiary of Transneft company) was put into operation on December 27, 2001 as the final stage of the first phase of Baltic Pipeline System (BPS) aimed at oil transportation from Timano-Pechersk field as well as from West-Siberian and Ural oil-and-gas provinces. PBS’s annual capacity as of the date of commissioning was 12 million tonnes. In 2003 PBS’s capacity was increased to 30 million tonnes of oil per year. Today its capacity is 65 million tonnes.
