OREANDA-NEWS. On 18 February 2008 was announced, that United TeleSystems, the leading supplier of integrated telecommunication solutions in Russia and the CIS, is gradually connecting Stary Lekar, a Moscow pharmacy chain, to the Internet.

Under the agreement with Vitim & Co Ltd. (that manages the Stary Lekar chain) Comstar-Moscow (Comstar-UTS business unit) is implementing the project to provide the broadband Internet to the stores of one of the largest pharmacy distribution chains in the Moscow region. 20 Stary Lekar pharmacies in Moscow already have ADSL-based Internet. And in the near future 50 pharmacies are going to be provided with constant Internet access.

Comstar-UTS may involve in the project extra resources based on both the client's business needs and communication requirements. In future, Comstar-UTS and Vitim & Co can extend the cooperation with respect to increased number of connected sites and employed broadband Internet technologies (xDSL, HPNA, Wi-Fi etc.), enhanced channel capacity and service range, including deploying a virtual private network (VPN).

Stary Lekar is one of the fastest growing retail chains in Russia. It comprises more than 130 stores in Moscow and the Moscow Region.
