OREANDA-NEWS. On 18 February 2008 a press service of the northern administrative district of Moscow announced, that a new European plan microdistrict in the area of Sokol, north Moscow, will rise on a site with old houses awaiting demolition on Svetly Proezd. Three high-rise buildings of 24-50 storeys, a new school, a parking garage and a park and ride facility, roofed sports rounds and playgrounds for children will be built there.

A short boulevard will also be built in the new microdistrict. Two high-rise buildings, including the 50-storey skyscraper, are a part of the program called New Ring of Moscow.

The widening of a carriageway of Svetly Proezd is also stipulated within the framework of the construction. New routes of public transport are intended to be launched in the new microdistrict as well.
