OREANDA-NEWS. On 19 February 2008 was announced, that 1,129 young families got apartments in Moscow in 2007, Lyudmila Guseva, head of Moscow’s Department of Family and Youth Policy, declared at a session of the group of activists on February 14, Interfax news agency reported.

“Last year 1,129 young families got apartments in the capital [of Russia] according to the program Affordable Housing for Young Families, due to which 26 houses were built,” Ms Guseva said.

According to her, currently 256 student families are in the charge of the department.

“In total 801 families with children, including large families and families with disabled children, got apartments within the Child’s Year [2007],” the official noted.
