OREANDA-NEWS. On 04 March 2008 was announced, that the summer flight schedule proposed by the national carrier flyLAL-Lithuanian Airlines and launched on 1 April will enable the residents of Lithuania to save up 15 million litas of travelling costs per year.

“Passengers travelling to Moscow, Kiev and London will be able to depart in the morning and, after settling their one-day affairs, return home in the evening. Flights to the mentioned destinations are operated twice a day. These flights last for up to 2.5 hours, and they are chosen by up to 30% of businesses. There are even more business clients travelling to Moscow and Kiev. We have observed that a considerable number of passengers from Latvia and Estonia have booked tickets to these flights via Vilnius“, says flyLAL-Lithuanian Airlines CEO Tadas Pukљta.

Travelling tendency surveys imply that about 35 000 business and private trips will last not longer than 1 day because using flyLAL-Lithuanian Airlines services one will be able save money spend for hotels. Thus, during the trip a passenger will be able to save about EUR 150 spent for accommodation.

According to T. Puksta, in addition to the mentioned destinations which are very popular among the passengers travelling for business purposes, frequency of flights to the popular destinations for leisure has been also increased: flyLAL-Lithuanian Airlines operates flights to Paris and Milan every day, except for Saturdays.

In 2008, the services of flyLAL-Lithuanian Airlines are expected to be used by twice as many passengers as in 2007. This year the Lithuanian company expects 1 million passengers. The airline will acquire twice as many planes as before, i.e. in 2008, passengers will be carried by 16 airliners of the Lithuanian company.

In February this year, the Company is expected to become a leader with reference to the number of passengers carried in Vilnius airport.
