OREANDA-NEWS. On 07 March 2008 was announced, that this year, the basic topic of the conference held under the aegis of "Energorynok" magazine became the " Problem of the System Reliability and Electricity Supply Safety Maintenance in Conditions of Change of the Branch Management Structure".

It is long since the "Risk Management in the Electric Power Sector" conference became a uniform forum for meeting and discussion of representatives of the authorities, regulating bodies, representatives of power, consulting, insurance and engineering companies. Such teamwork appreciably promotes understanding of many issues connected with identification, estimation and management of the basic risks in the electric power industry.  

IDGC of Centre, OJSC participates in the conference for the second year successively. Experience of the company in the field of management of strategic and investment risks was generalized this year and presented in the form of the report by Deputy General Director for IT and Management Technologies Pavel Obukhov.

Mr. Obukhov told about construction of the automated system of strategic controlling of the company's activity on the basis of SAP SEM CPM - strategic risks management basis, about purposeful improvement of IDGC of Centre's management system in connection with orientation to construction of the company’s complex risk management system implementing COSO standards.
In view of the fact that the report was presented within the limits of work of the section "Risks of Investment Projects Realization”, the significant part of Mr. Obukhov's report was devoted to risk investment issues.

IDGC of Centre, OJSC is stick to the assets management approach which is based on management of a life cycle of each asset taking into account risks, reliability, and profitableness. Experience of the pilot project realized in JSC Belgorodenergo showed that the given approach allows to optimize considerably expenses for repair and investment activity. The special attention and interest of participants of the conference caused detailed description of features of construction and functioning of the company’s asset management system.

It is necessary to note that development of a complex risk management system is fixed as one of strategic projects in the development strategy of IDGC of Centre up to 2015.
