OREANDA-NEWS. On 21 March 2008 was announced, that Baltika Breweries has been shipping product to Spain since the year 2000. At present the entire line-up of the Baltika brand is represented there, as well as Baltika Cooler. In 2007, the Company’s sales in Spain rose by 16%. The greatest incremental growth of sales was in the variety Baltika №7 Export beer, which grew by +23%, but the leading position in terms of sales volume is held by Baltika №3 Classic, which accounts for 26% of total sales. The second best seller is Baltika №7 Export beer with 18%, followed by Baltika №5 Zolotoe, with 16%.

Baltika Breweries occupies a confident position in the retail chains on the Spanish seacoast. In order to expand the geography of sales, raise brand recognition and acquire new contacts, the Company took part in the Alimentaria exhibition, which was held last week in Barcelona. Representatives of more than 4,000 exhibitors coming from 70 countries around the world had their stands in the show, and the number of visitors exceeded 150,000. At Baltika’s 60 sq.m. stand, the entire Baltika line-up was presented. Visitors to the exhibition could try draught Baltika №7 Export and Baltika №8 Wheat beer.

Innovation, a creative and dynamic atmosphere, a spirit of professionalism and the international make-up of participants — all of this gives the Alimentaria exhibition the character of a significant international event. In 2006, the exhibition marked its 30th anniversary. The macro-status of the exhibition combines with its high level of specialisation in food product sectors by category and service, making the exhibition an important world arena for business contacts.

Baltika Breweries specialists held a number of important meetings, strengthened existing contacts, and also achieved understandings and concluded working agreements which in the future may lead to expanding the Company’s distribution and the product range on the Spanish market.
