OREANDA-NEWS. March 21, 2008. This year Rosenergoatom nuclear power plants are planning to conduct and complete 30 current, mid and long-term maintenance campaigns, the first deputy technical director for modernization and maintenance of Rosenergoatom Concern Anatoly Kontsevoy said during the conference of the deputy chief engineers for maintenance of REA NPPs that took place at Kursk Nuclear Power Plant on Mar 19–20 2008.

Representatives of a number of research and specialized repair companies also took part in the meeting.

The head of the Maintenance Department of Rosenergoatom Concern Vladimir Dementyev made a report on the maintenance campaigns to be conducted at the REA NPPs in 2008 and the program for improvement the quality of maintenance at NPPs. Dementyev pointed out that the key task of his department was to ensure the fulfillment of the electricity production plan of the Federal Tariff Service due to the safe and efficient performance of all the REA NPPs. The federal target program for the development of the nuclear industry of Russia in 2007–2015 stipulates reduction of cost of maintenance and improvement of its quality.

The head of the Inspection Department of the General Inspectorate of Rosenergoatom Concern Oleg Zhirkov reported on the results of the work of the REA NPPs in 2007. He pointed out that in 2007 all the plants operated safely and registered no significant INES incidents.

The deputy chief engineers for maintenance of Kursk, Beloyarsk, Balakovo, Volgodonsk, Kalinin, Kola, Novovoronezh, Leningrad and Smolensk NPPs made reports on their maintenance campaigns, discussed their current problems and tasks. 

The general idea of the meeting was high responsibility for the quality of maintenance at Rosenergoatom NPPs.
