OREANDA-NEWS. March 27, 2008. Bank Electronika will serve as general sponsor of the V CIS and Baltic States Congress, to take place in Vilnus on June 19-20, 2008. Information agency Cbonds is organizer. The congress is an important event in the debt service market. By tradition, one of the financial capitals of the CIS hosts the gathering.

The congress has become an important event for the banking sector in countries of the CIS and the Baltic States. According to preliminary information, its popularity continues to rise, with more that 250 delegates planning to take part this year. In 2007 about 200 organizations attended the congress. Organizers of the upcoming congress anticipate participation by representatives from federal and local governments, large banks and leading financial institutions from Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, CIS countries, Great Britain, and others. The meeting is interesting, foremost, for issuers who are evaluating opportunities to enter the international credit market.

This is the second time that Bank Electronika will take part in such a project: in December 2007 a delegation from the Bank undertook sizeable work during the Russian Bond Congress in St. Petersburg.

Igor Potapov, Head of Treasury at Bank Electronika, noted: “The Bank’s primary objectives at the congress are promoting its corporate financing services in the international market and furthering relations with the Western economic community. In addition, the Bank plans to acquaint attendees with projects executed in the interest of trading company Polesie – the first Belarusian company taken into the Russian credit market. The Bank organized the debut issue for the company and served as paying agent. Bank Electronika has considerable experience executing bonded debt; in December 2007, under conditions where the outlines of the liquidity crises were in evidence, the Bank organized an extremely successful borrowing that attracted considerable capital.”
