OREANDA-NEWS. April 15, 2008. The 6th international contest of scientific-educational projects, Energy of the Future 2008, has drawn to a close. Bank Electronika, co-organizer of the event, awarded winners commemorative prizes.

The final event in the competition, organized by the Federal Agency on Nuclear Energy of the Russian Federation and other nuclear sector enterprises, took place on April 10, 2008. Representatives of the Council of Federation and the State Duma and organizers and partners of the project attended the gala ceremony for the contest’s awards and closing. The jury for the contest chose from student projects in five categories of science, naming three winners in each area.

The contest Energy of the Future 2008 is far from the first joint project that Bank Electronika and the Federal Agency on Nuclear Energy have undertaken. The Bank has worked closely with enterprises of Russia’s nuclear sector throughout its history; it frequently finances scientific events engaging the country’s youth and conferences and forums on nuclear and related themes.

Dmitry Alekseev, Deputy Head of the Department for Services to the Nuclear Industry at Bank Electronika, congratulated competition finalists and noted: “Scientific-educational events in nuclear energy are important for the future of science and for the economy as a whole. Contests reveal talented young people who are enthusiastic about science. Bank Electronika has worked for a long time and very successfully with nuclear industry enterprises. We are interested in the appearance of a worthy generation of young specialists in this sphere. Therefore, we plan to continue supporting creative initiatives from Rosatom for Russia’s students. We are pleased to have the opportunity to render support to the Russian scientific community.”
