On 15 April 2008 was announced, that United Metallurgical Company participated in the 2008 Tube Exhibition, the world’s largest exhibition for manufacturers of pipes and equipment designed for the pipe industry, held in Dusseldorf from March 31 to April 4. The exhibition is held every two years.

This year, the five pavilions of the Messe Dusseldorf exhibition were attended by 629 companies from 50 countries. The exhibition attendees showed a strong interest in OMK’s exhibition stand that was visited by more than 3 thousand people. "Our pipes are known throughout the world and enjoy a well-deserved demand, which fact is evidenced by OMK's success in the largest international biddings, including the one for supplying pipes for the subsea sections of the Nord Stream project," said Mr. Mikhail Brodsky, OMK Director for Technical Strategy. "During the 5 exhibition days, we reached agreements for supplying our products to dozens of new customers. For our part, we surveyed the possibilities of leading international equipment manufacturers for the purpose of further development of new lines of our pipe business." At the exhibition, OMK was represented under the slogan "Oil, gas, and water through OMK pipes for the entire world." And that is true to the fact: only last year, the Company produced and supplied more than 1.7 million tonnes of pipes to all the continents.

United Metallurgical Company (OMK) is one of Russia's largest producers of pipes, railroad wheels, and other metal products for energy, transport, and industrial companies. OMK comprises six largest enterprises in the metallurgical sector. The OMK Pipe-Rolling Division comprises Vyksa Steel Works (Nizhni Novgorod Region), Almetyevsk Pipe Plant (Republic of Tatarstan), and Trubodetal (Chelyabinsk Region); the OMK Steel Works Division comprises Chusovoy Metallurgical Works and Gubakha Coke (Perm Territory), and Shchelkovo Steel Works (Moscow Region). In 2007, OMK products accounted for 18% of pipes consumed in Russia, including 34% of large diameter pipes, 62% of railroad wheels, and 75% of automobile springs. I

n 2007, the OMK enterprises produced 1.8 million tonnes of pipes of various sizes and 820 thousand railroad wheels. The main consumers of OMK products include such leading Russian and foreign companies as Gazprom, Russian Railways, LUKOIL, Transneft, Surgutneftegas, Rosneft, TNK-BP, ExxonMobil, Royal Dutch/Shell, General Electric, and Samsung. OMK supplies its products to 20 countries.
