OREANDA-NEWS. On 15 April 2008 Interpipe announced a new project aimed at increasing tubing production at Interpipe’s Niko Tube mill. Investment in the project amounts to \\$6.3 mln USD. The new project is part of Interpipe’s strategic investment program. The new equipment willl enable Interpipe to increase facilities for the production of tubing with upset ends by 30,000 tons per year.

The new equipment provides ends’ upset for pipes from 60.3 to 89 mm in diameter, according to the standards API 5CT and GOST 633-80.

As part of the project, a new BRONX TW 5-rollers straightening press 6СR11 was put into operation  This new equipment is intended for straightening the pipes from 60 to 139 mm in diameter and with wall thickness from 2 to 15 mm. 

According to Interpipe’s Chief Executive Officer, Alexandr Kirichko:  ”The investment program at Interpipe Niko Tube is above all aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the company’s key strategic products – tubing and casing – which is based on the most up-to-date technology used by the world’s leading pipe producers. The realization of the project gives Interpipe the opportunity to strengthen its position as a producer of technologically sophisticated seamless pipes for the extraction of oil and gas”.
