OREANDA-NEWS. April 17, 2008. In January-March, 2008 throughput of port Primorsk grew by 2%, year-on-year, to 18.95 million tonnes. In the reported period, 178 vessels entered the port and 177 vessels leaved the port. Port Primorsk is the final stage of the first phase of Baltic Pipeline System (BPS) aimed at oil transportation from Timano-Pechersk field as well as from West-Siberian and Ural oil-and-gas provinces. It is the largest port in the North-West region of Russia in terms of export of oil and oil products.
