OREANDA-NEWS. On 23 April 2008 was announced, that the builders of the Moscow Metro is to launch the work on prolonging the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line and building a new station called Ploshchad Suvorova on the loop line in 2008.

“The work on prolonging the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line is to begin this year, it will allow the metro stations: Dostoevskaya and Maryina Roshcha be opened in late 2009,” Dmitry Gaev, head of the Moscow Metro, said.

The official added that it was planned to launch the construction of Ploshchad Suvorova station on the loop line between the stations: Prospekt Mira and Novoslobodskaya in 2008.

The builders of the Moscow Metro will be also prolonging the Kalininskaya line to Novokosino urban district in the current year. Novokosino station is scheduled to open in 2010.

“In 2010 the metro will come into such a populous district as Mitino. Two stations will be built there at once. In 2012 the metro will reach Rozhdestveno,” Mr Gaev noted.

Besides, according to the head of the Moscow Metro, the Kalininskaya line will be prolonged to Solntsevo urban district. “The Kalininskaya line is to be connected to the Solntsevskaya line-to-be through Moscow City [international business centre],” the official explained.
