OREANDA-NEWS. On 25 April 2008 was announced, that OJSC PAVA, the largest grain processor of Siberia and the Far East continues to take part in humanitarian programmes of international organizations. A contract for flour deliveries to Nazran (Ingushetia) was signed in April 2008. Last week, 347 tonnes of first-grade flour produced by Rebrikhinsky flour mill, OJSC PAVA (the Altay Territory) was shipped to Ingushetia. The second consignment (611 tonnes of flour) will be shipped to Nazran until the end of April.

Flour produced by PAVA will be sent to Chechen and Ingush refugees in polypropylene sacks with the company's logo. These sacks are 20% more durable than the standard package. The UN Commission has already noted the responsible approach of the Altay grain processor to the transportation of its products. The use of reliable up-to-date packaging precludes damage of the sacks and products deterioration, and is a guarantee that the flour will reach its destination in good condition.

Ingushetia - is one of the poorest regions in Russia which gave shelter to thousands refugees from Chechnya. Since the conflict began, around one-third of the population in Chechnya have been removed from their permanent residence and approximately 200 000 people left for the nearby republic, Ingushetia, the official UN website for Russia said. About 22 000 people among them are still staying in the republic, not venturing to go back home. UN WFP is designed for food security of Chechen and Ingush refugees.
