OREANDA-NEWS. April 30, 2008. In the first quarter of 2008, Commercial Seaport of Tuapse invested RUR 178 million into development of its production capacity (+50%, year-on-year), the company reports. RUR 168 million were invested into construction of the first phase of grain transshipment complex which is to handle 2 million tonnes per year. The complex will consist of grain storage facility (103,000 tonnes), a railway station and a deep-water berth to handle vessels with the capacity of up to 50,000 tonnes. The construction is to be completed in 2009. Besides, the company upgraded its distribution center and put new transforming station into operation.

Tuapse Commercial Seaport OJSC is the main operator in the port of Tuapse, one of Russia’s largest ports. In 2007, its throughput totaled 19.6 million tonnes including 14.1 million tonnes of oil cargo and 5.5 million tonnes of general cargo.
