OREANDA-NEWS. March 4, 2008. A collective agreement for 2008-2009 was executed between JSC Gurievsk metallurgical plant (GMP, ESTAR Group) and its employees. The agreement provides for additional rights, benefits and guarantees for JSC GMP workers concerning labour and salary issues, vocational training, safety and health protection, social safety net. As the collective agreement stipulates, the employer shall guarantee gradual increase in average salary in 2008 for engineers, officers and workers, including salary indexation against growing prices for consumer goods and services by at least 21% as compared to 2007. It also gives a list of professions, which are granted additional paid holiday at the expense of the plant’s revenues.

The Agreement approves the programme of healthy plant workers and their families which provide for holiday trips partially paid by JSC GMP. It also envisages safety net programmes for plant’s veteran which imply cash bonuses for the Day of elderly people, Victory Day, Day of disabled person, one-time financial aid for retirees on their anniversaries, families of retirees in case of death of a former plant worker.

Gurievsk metallurgical cherishes its old traditions, one of which is a guarantee of satisfactory standards of living for both plant employees and its veterans. The initiatives stated in the Collective agreement for 2008-2009 are not brand new, and JSC Gurievsk metallurgical plant once again proved its reputation of a socially responsible company.
