OREANDA-NEWS. May 02, 2008. The International Bank of Azerbaijan is preparing to lift the last restrictions on e-payment of goods and services in the country, reported the press-centre of IBA.

Elmar Sadikhov, the director of Azericard Ltd (processing company belonging to the Bank), said since the third quarter of 2008 the IBA will start rendering e-commerce service for all the interested organizations.

“Readiness for such services without limits will be provided in period from June 1 to July, 2008. All who want to carry out virtual e-commerce will be able to do that. The system will be open for all Azericard member banks,” Sadikhov said.

At the moment in Azerbaijan e-payments can be carried out only through cards of domestic issuers , that restrict possibilities of export of goods and services.
