OREANDA-NEWS. On 14 May 2008 was announced, that AS Akciju komercbanka Baltikums opened its representative office in Almaty. It is the beginning of an international network of representative offices to be established by the Bank.    

Extending such network of international regional branches and representative offices is one of AS Akciju komercbanka Baltikums strategic tasks.

AS Akciju komercbanka Baltikums believes that Central Asia has a huge development potential. Latvia and Kazakhstan enhance their business contacts continuously, especially in the area of transit business.

Kazakhstan is even more attractive to the Bank because it specialises in export and import business in international trade and financing of shipping companies. The Bank’s offer in private banking services and wealth management (management of private capital and asset management) will also be interesting.

The new office will represent the Bank’s interests and work on extension of our customer base in the area, provide information support on the services and products of AS Akciju komercbanka Baltikums and its associated companies for current and potential customers, and improve our correspondent relations with banks of Central Asia. The representative office will make research of the business environment, financial market and investment climate in Central Asia as well.

AS Akciju komercbanka Baltikums representative office in Kazakhstan is located in a new office in a modern and convenient business centre at Al-Farabi Avenue in downtown Almaty.

The representative office in Almaty (Kazakhstan) is the first representative office of the Bank. In the nearest future AS Akciju komercbanka Baltikums plans to establish a substantial network of representative offices to provide information on the Bank’s services for its potential customers. Currently, the relevant documents have been filed for registration and opening a representative office in Kiev (Ukraine).

The Bank has subsidiaries that represent its interests in Moscow and S. Petersburg (Russia), Kiev (Ukraine).
