OREANDA-NEWS. May 22, 2008. The KAMAZ-master team will participate in Transoriental – the longest rally-marathon in the world – which will start in Saint-Petersburg on 12 June.

In experts’ opinion, Transoriental can compete with the legendary Dakar by its complexity. 300 sportsmen from 25 countries will participate in the race. Three crews of the Russian KAMAZ-master team, sevenfold Dakar winners, are among them.

The route of 10 800 km (approximately 6 710 miles) will pass through the territories of Russia, Kazakhstan and China. The route of the race is very complex and includes forest labyrinths, narrow mountain passes, natural springboards, steppes and sands.

The new rally-raid absorbs attention of the sports community and world mass media. 30 leading sports and news television channels intend to report about the course of the race in over 100 countries.

Transoriental finishes near the Great Wall of China in the vicinage of Beijing on 28 June.
