OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2008. During a meeting in Moscow the director general of Power Machines OJSC Igor Kostin and the director of Atomenergoprom OJSC Vlaidmir Travin signed contracts for supply of main power equipment for Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant-2 and Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant-2. The total cost of the contracts is over 40bln RUR.

Either of the plants will have two 1,200MW WWER reactors.

The contracts say that Power Machines should design, manufacture and supply NovNPP-2 and LNPP-2 with four sets of steam turbines, condensers and auxiliaries for turbine systems as well as with four sets of turbine generators with auxiliaries and exciters. The company should also supply turbine, heat exchange and pumping equipment, pipelines and fittings.

The high-speed steam turbines and turbine generators with a capacity of 1,200MW are the new product of Power Machines. They are designed for NPPs of new generation that are being built in the framework of NPP-2006 project.

K-1200–6.8/50 turbines are based on the best solutions and technologies used during the production of turbines for Kudankulam NPP in India and used at Tianwan NPP in China (both plants are being built by Russia).

The TZV-1200–2 turbine generators to be designed and manufactured by Power Machines for NovNPP-2 and LNPP-2 are a new generation of turbine generators with 100% water cooling – this technology has no analogues in the world.
