OREANDA-NEWS. June 2, 2008. Stroytransgaz has begun constructing the Skovorodino pumping station along the route of the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean main oil pipeline. The new station is located at the terminus of the first line of the ESPO pipeline system, not far from the village of Bolshoi Never in the Skovorodinsk region of Amur Oblast.

In its first stage, the pumping station will be able to handle 30 million tons of oil per year. When the ESPO project is fully elaborated, the Skovorodino facility will have capacity to pump 80 millions tons of oil per year. Operating press at the station will be 10 mPa. Its tank farm will contain six reservoirs each having capacity to store 50,000 mі of oil and three reservoirs each having capacity to store 5,000 mі of oil.

Giprotruboprovod and its Ufa branch and InzhGeo developed plans and specifications for the Skovorodino oil pumping station.

As general contractor for the project, Stroytransgaz will construct all objects at the station. The Skovorodino facility will comprise 80 buildings and structures including the pumping station, reservoirs, cable racks, fire extinguishing systems, administrative and housing facilities, water supply and sewerage systems, and two 110 kV electric power lines each running 23 kilometers.
