OREANDA-NEWS. On 17 June 2008 was announced, that Rebrikhinsky flour mill, an enterprise integrated in OJSC PAVA, the largest grain processor of Siberia and the Far East starts the production of wheat germ oil. The product has undergone the required laboratory testings and received the sanitary and epidemiological qualifications and certificates. Wheat germ oil production is the first step in the implementation of PAVA’s biggest project for advanced complex grain processing. Later on it is planned to organize production of starch, glucose and maltose syrups, vital wheat gluten and ethanol made of wheat flour. The project involves a partial reconstruction of the existing production facilities with an increase in the grain processing capacity, and also launching new production capacities.

Currently, at all mill flours of OJSC PAVA – Mikhailovsky, Rebrikhinsky (the Altay Territory) and Achinsk (the Krasnoyarsk Territory) wheat germs are selected during grain milling in the process of flour-making. The company’s specialists are working on increasing germ selection. For the purpose of oil pressing, the special equipment has been installed at Rebrikhinsky mill. Oil is extracted by cold pressing. A dryer and a low-speed press with a capacity of 30 kg/hr have been launched. The final product is cleaned with a new Czech filter.

Wheat germ oil in its vitamin content is steadily given top ranking among all food products. It includes 3 active complexes: antioxidants (tocopherols and carotenoids); essential polyunsaturated fatty acids; B, D, F and PP vitamins, pantothenic and folic acids. The conducted survey has proved the effectiveness of the oil use in medicine, food-processing, mixed feed and cosmetic industries. Further on, it is anticipated to equip the oil-producing section at Rebrikhinsky mill with more powerful machinery, and also to launch the same production at PAVA’s Achinsk and Mikhailovsky mills.
