OREANDA-NEWS. June 24, 2008. “Modern Software and Technologies for Automated Process Control Systems” seminar has set off at the State Central Institute for Chief Executive Training (SCICET).

The first deputy director of VNIIAES (All-Russian Research Institute of Nuclear Power Plants) O.Bozhenkova opened the seminar with a report on the situation and tasks in the field of development of automated process control systems for nuclear power plants.

Managers and specialists of VNIIAES, NITI, VNIINM, OKBM, Rosenergoatom Concern, NIIP, Atomenergoproekt, Electrochemical Plant, NIKIIET, VNIPIET, Chepetsk Mechanical Plant, Start PA, Atomtechenergo, Mayak PA, NIIIS, VNIIEF, Hydropress, VNIIA, SNIIP, representatives of national and foreign companies specializing in development and production of automated process control systems (Siemens, Technocont, Point, Volmag, OMRON, Promcontroller), Russian Academy of Sciences, SCICET and IATE — a total of 64 participants — are attending the seminar.

The key topics of the seminar are as follows:

• Analysis and tendencies for development of software and technologies for the design of automated process control system;
• Software/hardware and control systems of national and foreign manufacture;
• Software for automation systems: SCADA-systems;
• Experience of design, introduction and operation of automated process control systems in different sectors;
• Industrial companies of the nuclear fuel cycle;
• Nuclear power plants;
• Automation of research and experimental units.

The seminar will last for three days. The participants will hear over 20 reports and will take part in thematic discussions.
