OREANDA-NEWS. June 26, 2008. The State Customs Service found a way to compensate cancellation of customs duty after Ukraine joined WTO. Importers will have to pay for storage of goods and transport vehicles at customs warehouses over 10 days.

In view of Ukraine's WTO accession on June 16, the State Customs Service cancelled a customs duty for storage of goods at customs warehouses envisaged by a governmental resolution of January 27, 1997. According to State Customs Service Chief Accountant Maria Okolyta, the payment introduction will concern temporary depots (licensed warehouses - private), at which undeclared, confiscated or transit goods are kept.
