OREANDA-NEWS. June 27, 2008. A common goal of European integration of Moldova and Ukraine should foster development of bilateral relations between the two states. This was discussed at meeting of Moldovan Premier Zinaida Grecianii and Ukraine's MP, Head of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (UUIE), Anatoliy Kinakh, who himself was born in Moldova, as reported with reference to MOLDPRES.

Zinaida Grecianii said that one of the prime tasks of the republic is to make the economics competitive, while this requires investment attraction in real economic sectors and ensuring citizens welfare. She invited Ukrainian businessmen to invest in Moldova. The Moldovan Prime Minister appreciated cooperation between the National Association of Goods Producers of Moldova (NAGP) and the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs headed by Anatoliy Kinakh and assured that the Moldovan government is interested in developing these trade relations.

For his part, Anatoliy Kinakh noted that in 2007, the volume of trade operations between the two countries almost reached USD 1 billion, while a balance for Moldova is negative, import exceeds export more than USD 500 million. The Ukrainian MP said Ukraine means to facilitate the import increase from Moldova. These issues, Kinakh emphasized, will be discussed at the Moldova-Ukraine business forum opened the day before in Chisinau. The event is organized by NAGP and UUIE. Anatoliy Kinakh says Ukraine and Moldova as neighbors with a common European vision should develop joint projects of investment structures, especially in the fields of mutual interest: agriculture, energy, infrastructure.
