OREANDA-NEWS. July 2, 2008. While welcoming the auditors, the head of the Personnel Management Department of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation Sergey Kruppo expressed hope that the meeting would be a good opportunity for young researchers to meet with the top managers of the nuclear industry and to discuss the most urgent problems of the sector.

“It is not a coincidence that we have called this seminar a “school.” The processes that are taking place in the industry today are urging all of us to learn. We want to know what reserve we have in our sector: in science, in production and in management.”

The head of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety and Licensing Department of Rosatom Alexander Agapov said: “Big projects give birth to big personalities. We strongly rely on you and your friends and hope that you will push our science forward in line with the key tasks.”

It is the first such school. Its objective is to preserve traditions in nuclear science and engineering, to support talented youths and to rejuvenate the personnel working in the sector.

Among the auditors are young researchers and post-graduates involved in different projects concerning nuclear and radiation safety, the new technological platform and possibilities of use of non-nuclear technologies (superconductors, pure water, medicine) in the nuclear sector.

The parties will discuss the strategy for development of the nuclear power industry, the problems of fundamental science and intellectual security of the country, the possibilities of use of nano-technologies in the development of the nuclear power industry, the federal target program on nuclear and radiation safety.
