OREANDA-NEWS. On June 30, 2008 Plenum of the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation (VAS RF) adopted a ruling "On some issues rising in connection with enforcement of antimonopoly legislation by the arbitration courts", reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The document, aimed at supporting uniform approaches to the competition-related litigation, was devised by the Supreme Court with participation of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), and was discussed with the legal community.

"We very much appreciate it that the Supreme Arbitration Court has adopted this ruling, - said Igor Artemyev, the Head of FAS Russia, commenting on the event, - The Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" has been enforced for less than two years, and there are already all-embracing interpretations of the main questionable matters".

It became possible, emphasized the Head of the Antimonopoly Service, because the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation promptly and efficiently consolidated and discussed the enforcement practices of the new antimonopoly legislation.

Interpretations aimed at providing a unified approach to the arbitration practice will increase efficiency of the competition policy in the Russian Federation, believes Igor Artemyev.
