OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 July 2008 was announced, Alpart’s Managing Director Alberto Fabrini opened the 2008 Alpart Schools’ Safety Exhibition and Fair which was staged at the Alpart Sports Club on Thursday June 12.

The Fair marked the culmination of the annual schools safety motivation programme sponsored by Alpart and shared with some 30 all-age and primary schools located in the company’s operating areas of South St. Elizabeth and South Manchester.

The programme is led by teachers and monitors from the participating schools and impacts on some 10,000 students annually who are taught to use essay writing, exhibits, debates, drama, art and music to inculcate safety and environment values into their curriculum.

Students and schools are also audited for safety and health standards by an independent team of safety counselors and professionals.

Thursday’s Fair featured exhibits, models, poster work and cultural items depicting this year’s theme, “Protect our children – the future depends on them.”

The Alpart Award for the best safety performance 2008 went to Bethaubra All Age, with Goshen Primary 2nd, and Ferguson Primary 3rd.
