OREANDA-NEWS. July 8, 2008. Power Machines renewed the contract execution of the complete equipment supply for construction of hydroelectric power plant "Al Adaim" in Iraq. The corresponding decision was made by the Ministry of Energy of Iraq which has continued financing of the given project.

The project of equipment supply for new hydroelectric power plant in the north of Iraq will be realized by Power Machines on a “turn-key” basis. The scope of Supply includes two hydraulic turbines, four rotary shutters, two hydrogenerators with capacity of 13,4 MW each, auxiliary mechanical and electric systems of the plant. Besides, Power Machines will carry out installation and putting into operation of all equipment of the plant. The customer of the project is "General Company for electric projects" of the Ministry of Energy of Iraq.

The corresponding contract has been concluded in 2001, but due to hostility in Iraq, in 2003 the contract has been frozen, deliveries were withholded, already manufactured parts of turbines and generators were on safekeeping till the present moment.

Shipment of the equipment will be made upto November 2008. Commissioning of hydroelectric power plant "Al Adaim" is planned on the July, 2010.

Also at Iraq energy market Power Machines realizes the delivery project of the main power equipment for heating and power plant "Dibis".
