OREANDA-NEWS. July 10, 2008. President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh have discussed the prospects of cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, reports the assistant to the President of Russia Sergey Prikhodko.

The Russian President expressed appreciation of India’s firm commitment to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Medvedev and Singh discussed the problems of trade-economic cooperation and pointed out that the growth of the Russian-Indian trade turnover did not reflect the real potential and the excellent level of political relations between the two countries.

Singh confirmed the invitation of Medvedev to visit India in late 2008 to attend the official closure of the year of Russia in India. “The Premier and the President have agreed to instruct their governments to make necessary preparations,” says Prikhodko.
