OREANDA-NEWS. July 17, 2008.  At the Chancellery of the Government, Kakha Bendukidze and the representatives of the World Bank held discussions on development of the financial sector.

On behalf of the World Bank, the meeting was attended by Michael Edwards – Lead Financial Sector Specialist of the Private and Financial Sector Departament of the Europe and Central Asia Regions and Tata Kandelaki, Expert of the Financial Sector.

Head of the Chancellery of the Government Kakha Bendukidze spoke about the changes undertaken in Georgia’s financial sector and the current developments in this area. Along with the above said issues, he also emphasized the importance of providing legal bases for the sector and touched upon the prospects as well as complexities existing in the field of finances.

Representatives of the World Bank gave positive assessment to the steps undertaken by Georgia in the financial sphere.
