OREANDA-NEWS. On 31 July 2008 was announced, that the municipal authorities of the northern administrative district of Moscow, where half of car owners are out of parking spaces, plan to construct new car parks for 50,000 vehicles in the district by 2011.

A press service of the northern district of Moscow informed that more than 250,000 motor cars had been registered in this part of the Russian capital.

“According to the goal-oriented urban program aimed at erecting parking garages scheduled for 2008-2010, the parking garages with the approximate total capacity of 50,000 vehicles are to be constructed in north Moscow on 174 plots,” the press service added.

Yury Khardikov, prefect of the northern administrative district of Moscow, believes that basically multilevel car parks should be put up instead of traditional parking.

The press service reminded that the pilot projects of powered and ecological car parks were being implemented in north Moscow, but the most parking spaces were in the multilevel garage complexes.
